The Power Mac 9500 and 9600 were Apple's flagship towers of the PCI era — six PCI slots, room for multiple drives, and 150–350 MHz 604 and 604e processors. The 9600 was the last pre-G3 Mac Apple sold and the fastest 604e machine ever produced. Both machines were used extensively in broadcast television, commercial printing, and scientific computing — environments where raw processing power and maximum expansion were non-negotiable.
