Apple IIGS

The final and most powerful Apple II, released the same year as the Macintosh SE. The IIgs used a 16-bit 65C816 processor and a custom Ensoniq sound chip capable of producing audio that the early Macs couldn't match. Steve Jobs reportedly resented it for being too capable and quietly throttled its clock speed to avoid undermining Mac sales. The IIgs community never forgave him.
