The Magic Keyboard replaced Apple's chiclet-style aluminum keyboards with a rechargeable internal battery and a refined low-profile scissor switch mechanism. Pairing happens instantly via Bluetooth and the charge lasts approximately a month. The Magic Keyboard settled the form Apple's desktop keyboard would take for the foreseeable future — thin, wireless, and designed to complement the aluminum Mac aesthetic.
