The Extended Keyboard II refined its predecessor with a slightly updated layout and the same excellent Alps mechanical switches. Introduced in 1990, it remained Apple's premium keyboard through the early 1990s and is the last Apple keyboard that keyboard enthusiasts regard without qualification as genuinely good. The ADB connector it used would persist in Apple hardware until USB arrived with the iMac in 1998.
