Apple's portrait-orientation display — designed for page layout and desktop publishing, where a full letter or A4 page needs to be visible at once. At 640×870 pixels in a vertical orientation, it let designers see an entire document page without scrolling. A niche product that found a devoted audience among graphic designers and publishers throughout the early 1990s.
