Apple's first monitor — a 12-inch green-phosphor display designed for the Apple II, at a time when most users connected their computers to a television set. The Monitor II and III followed in the same product line. These early displays established Apple's practice of selling matched hardware at a premium, and set expectations that Apple peripherals would be designed as part of a complete system.
